I started Dystopian Knights in 2019 to be a simple fun board game I could play with friends while getting drunk....what I ended up creating was a whole world rich with silly characters. This game slowly evolved into something very clever and fun with each new version while I was beta testing. Its a game of strategy hiding under a colorful façade full of dick and fart jokes. Its full of references to all the things I love, 80s movies, horror, video games. You dont just play the game...it plays YOU! okay i dont exactly know what that means but it sounded cool in my head.
Keep up with the Kickstarter Launch and any Dystopian news
Aaaaaaand here's a sneak peek to the Kickstarter
Play as one of 12 different Heroes, each with their own unique stats and abilities. Each Hero has its own miniature, in a solid color to match its home color. There are 4 races to choose from. Humans (red), Dwarves (blue) , Elves (yellow) and Orcs (green). Each of those fall into the classes, Fighter, Mage, Rogue and Cleric.
A colorful 22"x28" world map. Fantasy based characters and creatures all set in a weird dystopian world. Fight your way to center, defeat the Boss and steal its Treasure. I hope you enjoy movie references as well a some dick and ball humor.
There are 350+ cards in total. 278 unique cards with its own artwork. 37 of these cards are different creatures. everything from creatures, to world events, all kinds of weapons and armor. The game is loot based, its the currency of the game, its also your gear and resources. There's a simple crafting system to upgrade loot to really buff your Hero out.
Game play is pretty casual for the first half of the game BUT everything changes when someone beats the Boss and gets the Treasure. All they gotta do is get back to their home corner with it. That's easier said than done cause they now are the target and oh, yeah, the Boss and Treasure are random. There's 9 different Bosses and 9 different Treasures ....and each Treasure comes with a unique debuff, so getting the treasure is the easy part, getting home with it not so much.
The game is equal parts strategy and RNG.
Game play takes about 2-3 hours. The mechanics are simple enough for casual gamers but the advanced strategies will keep the hardcore gamers interested.
